Male Skincare Secrets

1. Avoid strong deodorant soaps on your face and body. Instead knob to gentler liquid or bar soaps with moisturizer and avoid strong cleaning agents that aggravate skin causing dryness and cracking. Stop the use of drying alcohol-based aftershave products.

2. Apply a skin moisturizer after showering as wet skin absorbs better than dry skin.
3. For cracked hands, use a barrier cream such as Neutrogena Norwegian Formula or Prevex HC – they form a wall between skin and the essentials, preventing moisture defeat.
4. Look for skincare goods that contain antioxidants (vitamin E, green tea), anti-aging ingredients (vitamin A) and an SPF of at least 15.
5. Avoid products that include formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers which can cause an allergic reaction.
6. If your scalp tends to be dry and flaky, look for shampoo that contains the antifungal ketoconazole. If the scaling is pretty significant a tar shampoo is a good idea. If your skin tends to break out at the hairline, avoid styling products containing oil which can exacerbate the problem. Look for glycerin-based products instead.
7. Don’t consider about changing your skin regimen for the season, imagine about giving your skin what it needs for that day. Sensitivity and dryness can change daily depending on humidity levels, time of the year, sun exposure, and even when you last shaved.
8. During cold weather, with indoor heating and less moisture, skin becomes drier and more sensitive. Applying a daily moisturizer may be necessary.
9. Diet plays a major role in your skin and health since both reflect your inner systematic wellbeing. In general, foods that are packed with vitamins and minerals (fruits and vegetables) contain the building blocks necessary for cell growth and turnover. In addition, dark green leafy vegetables contain the antioxidants necessary for combating the free radicals that contribute to aging.
10. Not using a daily sunblock is most men’s biggest skincare error. Even in the winter you get lots of UV contact so a first-rate sunblock that doubles as a moisturizer is needed everyday. Use one with a gel base for hairy areas as gel tends to be less messy.
